Rekindling from Burnout: Addressing Moral Distress and Coping Mechanisms

What is it?

A one-day conference that raises awareness about moral distress and provides resources to cope with burnout for all aspiring and current healthcare professionals.

The conference is an educational program that addresses an issue that is current and relevant to all students and faculty within SDSU and the San Diego community. During the conference, there will be networking opportunities between peers and professionals which will enhance our students’ professional development. There will be interactive breakout sessions with case studies, open discussions, and panelists. The conference aims to shift the culture of healthcare to provide a more mentally cognizant environment.

Dr. Judy Davidson

Dr.Davidson.jpg

DNP, RN, FCCM, FAAN

Dr. Judy Davidson is a Nurse Scientist with over 30 years’ research experience as a Principal Investigator. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University in Organizational Leadership. She is recognized nationally as a thought-leader on topics related to biomedical ethics, family-centered care and family response to critical illness. Dr. Davidson authored a theoretical model for care of the families of ICU patients intended to mitigate stress disorders arising from exposure to critical illness. Her work has shifted over time to workplace wellness and suicide in healthcare professions.
